Enhanced Traffic Patrols by RPD beginning 5.8.18

Beginning May 8, Rollinsford Police are participating in enhanced traffic enforcement patrols thanks to a grant from the NH Office of Highway Safety.  Officers will be looking for any violation of law, more specifically distracted driving, driving under the influence, use of electronic devices, etc.  Special attention will be given to the Roberts Road, Bear Road, and Portland Avenue corridors.  A safety traffic sign has been temporarily set up on Portland Avenue in the vicinity of Roberts & Baer intersection advising motorist to reduce speed as they approach the intersection and not to pass on the right using the breakdown lane as a passing zone.

Safety Issues on Portland Avenue

The Select Board is once again reviewing safety issues on Portland Avenue and has invited Traffic Engineer William Lambert from the NH Department of Transportation to review these issues with the Board on Monday, January 22, as part of the Board’s regular Monday meeting.    We hope to start this part of the meeting close to 7:00.

As always, the public can attend all meetings of the Select Board but please note that this is not a public hearing.   We may choose to open up the meeting for a very brief time for some public comments but we will also be cognizant of the need to return to the rest of our business agenda.
