The Town Clerk is available at the Town Office during the following times throughout each week:
Monday 8:00am – 1:00pm
Tuesday 1:00pm – 6:00pm
Thursday 1:00pm – 6:00pm
Friday 8:00am – 1:00pm
If you are unable to come into Town Hall during these times, you can contact the Town Clerk via e-mail: or via phone: (603) 742-2510 ext. 314.
We still only accept checks, cash, or money orders!
Motor Vehicle Transactions
All motor vehicle transactions can be done in person at Town Hall during our current office hours. No appointment is necessary. If you choose to conduct your business at Town Hall, be sure to bring your valid driver’s license and form of payment (only checks, cash, or money orders are accepted). We are a two-check town, meaning that you will need to provide us with two checks or money orders to pay for your transaction, one made out to the town and one to the state.
If you are looking to transfer valid plates to a new vehicle, you must provide us with the original valid registration that goes with those plates. Otherwise, you’ll need to purchase a duplicate registration for $18 before you transfer.
If you are looking to register a vehicle purchased through a private sale, you need to provide us with the vehicle’s original title, regardless if it is from outside the state or not. If you are looking to register a vehicle purchased from a licensed dealer, you should provide us with the “Town Clerk” copy of the title application you filled out already at the dealership.
Registration renewals can also be done online (a small convenience fee will be applied), through the drop box located through the front door of Town Hall, or through the US Mail. If using the drop box or US Mail, be sure to provide us with a self-addressed stamped envelope. Once processed, your new registration(s) and plate stickers will be sent to you via the US Mail.
Dog Licensing
State law RSA 466:1 requires that every owner or keeper of a dog four months old or older must have it registered, numbered, described, and licensed annually in the city or town where the dog is kept. According to the law, dog licenses are effective from May 1st through April 30th regardless of when they are obtained. Each dog’s rabies vaccination should be current and up-to-date. No record of current vaccination, no new license.
Dog license renewals can be done online (a small convenience fee will be applied), through the drop box located through the front door of Town Hall, or through the US Mail. Once processed, your new tag(s) and license(s) will be sent to you via the US Mail. There’s no need to provide a self-addressed stamped envelope since we need to use a special stamp to send the tags through the mail.
License Fees (“altered” means neutered or spayed):
Altered dog or puppy – $7.50
Unaltered dog – $10.00
Owner 65+ first license – $3.00
Group license (5 or more dogs) – $20.00
Vital Records
New Hampshire birth certificates, death certificates, marriage certificates, and divorce decrees can be obtained through any town or city hall in the state, but we would be glad to help you do so here in Rollinsford. The first certified copy of one of these records costs $15; each additional copy costs $10. Be sure to have a valid photo ID with you and a relevant reason for obtaining such a document. You can also fill out the application for vital records online.
Marriage licenses require some time to process, but can also be done at Town Hall. Please call ahead.
Transfer Station Stickers
All residents may purchase transfer station stickers. There is a limit of two per household ($20 for the first sticker; $10 for the second). You must provide a current Rollinsford vehicle registration for each sticker you purchase. If new to town, you’ll need to fill out a DMV record change request form before obtaining stickers. This can be done at Town Hall during our current office hours. Town ordinance states that non-resident property owners cannot obtain yearly transfer station stickers.
Voter Registration
If you’d like to register to vote in our elections, you can fill out a NH Voter Registration Form here at Town Hall. The Town Clerk will accept it and pass it along to our Supervisors of the Checklist. You can also register to vote at any election.
