Notice: Temporary Moratorium on Obstructions and/or Laydowns – Newly Paved Roadways
The Town has significantly invested in resurfacing roadways. To protect this investment and preserve the new pavement’s integrity for years to come, the Select Board enacted a moratorium prohibiting the obstruction or placement of heavy equipment or dumpsters on the newly paved surfaces.
During this period, we will not issue verbal authorizations or written permits to contractors or residents for placing dumpsters or heavy equipment (for any length of time) on the new asphalt along the following roadways. This includes permits for driveway paving. This moratorium remains in effect until April 1, 2027:
- General John Sullivan Way
- Cottage Lane
- Silver Lane
- Woodland Drive
- Pine Street moratorium goes into effect after paving, tentatively scheduled for August
These large obstructions can settle into the fresh pavement, causing long-term damage to the roadway surface, especially during the summer months. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation in helping preserve our roadways.
