Property Tax Rate for December 2024 & July 2025

The property tax rate for the December 2024 and July 2025 tax bills has been set and property tax bills have been mailed with a due date of December 27, 2024.

Town

The initial rate for the Town was proposed to be $3.91 which is an increase of $0.50 over the 2023 rate. The Town was able to reduce the rate using $245,815 of fund balance (unused funds). This brought the Town’s tax rate to $3.41 which is a net increase of $0.03 per thousand of assessed property value.

School

The rate for the School (Local Education) is proposed to be $10.03, an increase of $1.00 over the 2023 rate. The School’s rate was not reduced and remains at $10.03 which is an increase of $1.00 per thousand of assessed property value.

State Education and County

These rates are set by the State and County, respectively, and are not subject to reduction by municipalities.

Formula to calculate your approximate tax bill

Your assessed property value divided by 1000 and then multiplied by $16.41

Example: Assessed property value = $400,000

$400,000 / 1000 = 400 * $16.41 = $6,564 (divided into two property tax bills)
