Supervisors of the Voter Checklist Announcement
Supervisors of the Voter Checklist will meet in public session on Tuesday, June 4 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. At that time residents may register to vote, may change party affiliation, and may update other personal information (change of name, address, NH driver’s license).
Please note that this will be the LAST TIME VOTERS MAY CHANGE PARTY AFFILIATION before the September State Primary on Tuesday, September 10.
Voter Registration
The following documents, needed to register to vote in New Hampshire, are governed by state laws created by the legislature and signed by the governor. If you have questions or wish to discuss these requirements please contact the Elections Division of the Office of the Secretary of State at (603) 271-3242 or (603) 271-8241
If you are new to New Hampshire and have never voted here before you will need:
1. Proof of US citizenship (birth certificate, US Passport or Passport Card, Naturalization Papers, Consular Report of Birth Abroad or FS-240, or Certificate of Citizenship)
2. Photo ID (Driver’s License, valid student photo ID, employee photo ID, non-driver’s license DMV photo ID)
3. Proof of domicile (utility bill, lease, auto registration, driver’s license with street address printed on the reverse side)
If you are already registered and have voted in NH you will need:
1. Photo ID (Driver’s License, valid student photo ID, employee photo ID, non-driver’s license DMV photo ID)
2. Proof of domicile (utility bill, lease, auto registration, driver’s license)
Voters may also register at town hall with the Clerk during regular business hours and on election day at the American Legion Hall on Foundry Street, the Rollinsford polling place. Polls for all elections in Rollinsford open at 7:00 a.m. and close at 7:00 p.m.
NH State Primary – Filing for Candidacy
Period to File for Candidacy for the NH State Primary being held on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 begins on June 5th and ends on June 14th at 5:00 p.m.
Filing for Candidacy:
- Candidates for State Representative and Delegates must file with the Town Clerk.
- Candidates for all other offices must file with the Secretary of State at town hall and with the Town Clerk.
- Candidates filing Declarations of Intent will also file with the Secretary of State at town hall and with the Town Clerk.
- All filings must be in person with appropriate filing officer (Town Clerk).
- There may be no withdrawals after 5:00 p.m.
Certifying Candidacy:
Candidates must appear in person to file nomination papers with the Supervisors of the Voter Checklist for certification and placement on the general election ballot no later than 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 7. Supervisors will be available that day at town hall from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Supervisors must certify nomination papers for candidacy no later than 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 28.
