The Rollinsford, New Hampshire Police Department is actively seeking police officer candidates to fill a current vacancy.  The Rollinsford Police Department is a community oriented and highly professional law enforcement agency dedicated to serving a community with a population with 2,800 residents.

Officer’s patrol the Town of Rollinsford for the purpose of crime prevention and law enforcement duties include, but are not limited to calls for service, investigation of crimes, identification and apprehension of offenders, and prevention of crime.  Applicants must have the ability to exercise good common sense, discretion, objectivity, be able to make good decision under pressure, and perform all the essential job function of a police officer.

Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

    • Minimum 21 years of age
    • A United States Citizen
    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • NH PSTC Certification preferred

Applicants who meet the basic qualifications are selected on a competitive basis.  Each applicant must successfully complete each element of the hiring process

    • Physical fitness test
    • Oral Board
    • Background examination
    • Psychological profile
    • Polygraph

Fireworks Permits

As we approach the summer season, please be aware that the Town of Rollinsford has an ordinance that requires a permit for the use or display of fireworks. Those who are found to be in violation of this ordinance are subject to a fine.
Fireworks permit applications are available at the Rollinsford Fire Department or at the Rollinsford Police Department.  Applications can also be downloaded HERE ONLINE. Per the ordinance, applications must be submitted at least (15) days in advance of the display.
A copy of the ordinance is available at the town hall or through the police department.

Drug Take Back Day 4.24.21

This Saturday, April 24th 2021, the Rollinsford Police Department will be participating in Drug Enforcement Administration – DEA Drug Take Back Day from 10am – 2pm.

Come down to the station during this time and the lobby will be open for you to dispose any unwanted, unused, or expired prescription drugs in our disposal box.

We will also have a supply of Deterra System drug deactivation bags to distribute.

Police Chief Appointment

The Select Board is pleased to announce that effective Monday, March 29, 2021, Jonathan Uraskevich is the new Chief of Police for the Town of Rollinsford. Today begins a new era for the Rollinsford Police Department under the capable leadership of Chief Uraskevich. The Select Board is looking forward to working with the Chief and implementing common goals.

ROLLINSFORD – The Rollinsford Select Board is pleased to announce the Board’s unanimous decision to promote Lieutenant Jonathan Uraskevich to Police Chief pending negotiation of terms of employment and compensation.

A lifelong resident of New Hampshire, Jon graduated from Nute High School before beginning his career as a Police Officer in Milton, New Hampshire. In 2002 he was appointed as a full-time Patrol Officer with the Rollinsford Police Department.  In 2005, he was promoted to Patrol Sergeant, and to Lieutenant in 2012.  During Jon’s time as an officer in Rollinsford, he has built strong relationships within the community on patrol, as a prosecutor, and as an executive leader.

Jon was selected after an internal process to replace Police Chief Robert Ducharme, who retired December 31st.

The Rollinsford Select Board looks forward to working with Jon in the best interest of the Town of Rollinsford and the Rollinsford Police Department.
