Bridge Work on Oak Street in Rollinsford

The work will close a section of the road for two weeks.

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) will temporarily close the bridge over the CSX railroad (previously Pan Am railroad) on Oak Street in Rollinsford on Monday, September 18, 2023.

A signed detour will direct motorists around Oak Street via Broadway, Saint James Street, Chapel Street, and NH Route 4. Oak Street will be open to local and business traffic either side of the bridge. During the bridge closure, crews will be removing and replacing the timber wearing surface on the bridge deck. The closure is anticipated to last for 14 days to complete the work.

Oak Street paving may extend into the evening

Paving work on Oak Street, between Portland Avenue and the intersection of Broadway and Rollins Road, may continue into the evening. The work was initially expected conclude by early afternoon.

While the work continues, this segment of Oak Street will remain closed to all through traffic. A traffic detour will be in effect via Portland Avenue, Chapel Street, Saint John Street, and Broadway in Dover. Local traffic only (including customers of Salmon Falls Stoneware) will be permitted during this time, although some delays should be expected.

Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route while the work continues.
