RWSD May 10th Public Presentation at RGS

The RWSD cordially invites the public to attend a presentation of the results of the recent Level of Service (LOS) public survey at 6:30 pm on May 10th at the Rollinsford Grade School. Wright Pierce, RWSD’s engineering support, will also be in attendance to help present the findings and guide the District in how best to incorporate ratepayer feedback into a revised set of LOS goals.

RWSD Survey

RWSD Level of Service Survey

The Rollinsford Water and Sewer District (RWSD) wants to hear your feedback! The RWSD is dedicated to providing reliable, safe, clean drinking water to our District members. While working to meet those needs, customer satisfaction is extremely important. Water/Sewer District Members are being asked to complete a level of service survey to share feedback on what the RWSD is doing well and where they can improve. The survey is anonymous and only takes a few minutes to complete.

RWSD Hydrant Flushing 9/13 – 9/17

The Rollinsford Water and Sewer District will be flushing hydrants during overnight hours next week (9/13 through 9/17). Flushing is part of our routine maintenance program necessary to maintain the integrity of the water system and to ensure the hydrants are in proper working order. Please note that although the water is safe to drink after flushing, it can become discolored. If this happens, run your cold water tap for a few minutes until the water is clear. If it is not clear the first time, wait a few minutes and repeat this process.

For more information, please check the RWSD website at https://rollinsfordwatersewer.org, contact the District office via phone at 603-742-8124 or via email at [email protected].

Rollinsford Water and Sewer District – Restrictions on all Outdoor Water Use

The Rollinsford Water and Sewer District (RWSD) has implemented a mandatory water ban that includes restrictions on ALL outdoor water use including all outdoor watering, car washing, pool filling, etc. It is extremely important that our District members comply (and help spread the word) so we can bring our water tank back up to levels adequate for fire suppression. Once the water tank level is restored to its necessary depth (hopefully within a week or so), watering of vegetable gardens will be permitted while restrictions on other outdoor watering will continue to be necessary until drought conditions improve. Please know that this is an evolving process and the RWSD will continue communication with District members on the current levels of the restrictions. For a more detailed description of the restrictions, go to the RWSD website or watch the recording of the May 25th RWSD Commissioners’ meeting: HERE (Minutes 48:57 through 1:27:52 and Minutes 1:58:36 through 2:23:18 are when the topic was discussed). If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to the District office at 603-742-8124 or VIA EMAIL.

Mandatory Water Ban: All Outdoor Water Use

As drought conditions persist and parts of Strafford County, including Rollinsford, have been elevated to “Extreme Drought”, the Rollinsford Water and Sewer District is placing a mandatory water ban on all outdoor water use. The ban is effective immediately and will be in place until conditions improve. Per this ban, the following activities are restricted within the District:

  • Watering of residential landscape areas (lawns or landscapes) *also prohibited townwide as of 9/28/20*
  • Washing of vehicles
  • Washing down paved surfaces
  • Filling of swimming pools

Please be advised that the water use restrictions will be enforced. The first offense will result in a written notice for failure to comply. A second violation will result in a $100 fine. A third violation will result in a $500 fine. If you observe violations to the ban or have any questions, please contact the District office at 603-742-8124 or via email.

Voluntary Water Restriction

The Rollinsford Water and Sewer District (RWSD) is currently asking that District members voluntarily reduce outdoor water use as local drought conditions continue to worsen. At this time, the public is requested to refrain voluntarily from landscape watering and to limit the amount of water used outdoors for other purposes. We will continue to monitor our water levels and may issue mandatory restrictions if conditions continue to worsen and drought conditions persist. We thank you for your cooperation.
