Candidate for Supervisor of the Checklist

Opportunity to serve new and existing Rollinsford voters

Supervisors of the Checklist are seeking a candidate to run for office to fill a vacancy for an unexpired term.  Candidates for this office will appear on the ballot for the March town election.  The last three years of an unexpired six-year term runs from March of 2025 through March of 2028.

Please submit your email of interest to town Clerk Maggie McCauley by December 20 and receive an invitation to attend an informational meeting on Monday, December 30 at 5:00 p.m. at town hall.

WHO – Rollinsford Supervisors are part of a state-wide team of volunteers who report to the Elections Division of the office of the Secretary of State and are responsible for:

  • maintaining voter records for all registered voters of Rollinsford;
  • recording elections
  • conducting periodic review of the checklist using national address change reports from USPS, as well as conducting records purges scheduled every 10 years

WHAT & WHEN – Supervisor  duties are to:

  • meet at least quarterly to address and approve all pending changes to the checklist (new residents; voters who have moved or are deceased; party changes; corrections to information; and other changes)
  • attend and staff voter registration at every election (town, state, federal);
  • attend and staff deliberative sessions for the school district, the town, and the water and sewer district to check-in voters;

HOW – Skills needed for this position are:

  • An ability to make new comers to Rollinsford feel welcome while simultaneously upholding the requirements of New Hampshire laws to confirm documentation of citizenship, domicile, and identity.
  • A familiarity with database management
  • An eye for accuracy and attention to detail
  • A willingness to learn, to be alert for mistakes, and then to correct mistakes

Supervisors of the Checklist are part of the town’s team of Election Officials including the Clerk, Moderator, and Ballot Clerk who are sworn to uphold the laws of the State of New Hampshire that govern election processes and procedures.

Voting 11.5.2024

Voting for the 2024 General Election will be held on Tuesday, November 5th from 7am – 7pm at the American Legion at 551 Foundry Street, Rollinsford.

Town Hall will be CLOSED on Tuesday, November 5th for the election. 

Still need to register to vote? Please bring a photo ID, proof of domicile (lease, auto registration, or something mailed to you such as a utility bill or bank statement or similar), and proof of citizenship (passport/passport card, birth certificate, naturalization papers). CORRECTION: Accuvote Ballot-Counting Machine Testing

The Accuvote Ballot-Counting Machine will be tested on Wednesday, October 30th at 10:00 a.m. at the Town Hall. This testing is required and is in preparation for the General Election to be held on Tuesday, November 5th. The public is welcome to attend.

In advance of this required testing, test ballots and tally sheets will be prepared on Tuesday, October 29th at 1:30 p.m. at the Town Hall. The public is welcome to attend.

Any voter wishing to update personal information, make changes to party affiliation, register to vote, or have questions about their voter status may meet with the supervisors on

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 23, 2024, 6:30 to 7:00 PM AT TOWN HALL

This will be the last opportunity to register before election day on November 5th.

Voters may also vote on November 5th.

If you are not currently registered to vote in New Hampshire or in Rollinsford,  you will need to bring with you a photo ID, proof of domicile (lease, auto registration, or something mailed to you such as a utility bill or bank statement or similar), and proof of citizenship (passport/passport card, birth certificate, naturalization papers).
