The summer season at Rollinsford’s historic Colonel Paul Wentworth House kicks off with Down to the Sea: The Maritime Heritage of the Piscataqua, a living history timeline of American maritime history, on Saturday and Sunday, June 1 and 2.
Re-enactors and historians representing maritime life from the 17th through 20th centuries will demonstrate naval rope work and knot tying, naval signaling, maritime food ways, cannon firing, and musket and rifle demos. A full scale replica 18th century whale boat as used by civilians and the military will be on display, along with weapons, uniforms, and other artifacts of naval military history.
Hours for the event on Saturday are from 10 am to 4 pm; Sunday hours are 10 am to 3 pm. Admission is $5 for adults; free for children and ARCH members. The Wentworth House is regularly open for tours between 1 and 4 pm on Sundays from June through mid-October.
The circa 1701 Wentworth House is located on Water Street in Rollinsford, NH and is maintained by the nonprofit Association for Rollinsford Culture and History (ARCH). There will be a free Ice Cream Social on Wednesday June 5th from 6 -7:30 pm at the Grade School.
Everyone is welcome to come to attend. There will be outdoor games and a raffle for kids!
The Rollinsford Grade School is doing a year end fundraiser for the month of June. There are 30+ days of prizes ranging from $20.00 – $80.00 in Value. The cost is just $10.00. Please support your local PTO/School by purchasing one, contact us for yours today.
Names will be pulled June 3 -June 14 on regular business days. All gift calendars need to be purchased by the morning of Monday, June 3rd to participate in the full month of drawings. (Calendars purchased after Monday will enter for those prizes not yet pulled.)

Sligo Road is currently scheduled to be reclaimed on Monday, June 10thweather permitting.
Paving is behind schedule do to how much rain we have had in the area recently. Therefore, the road may remain dirt for a few weeks before it is repaved.
The Rollinsford Stormwater Committee will meet on June 12th at 6:30PM at the Rollinsford Town Hall.

The Rollinsford Police Department will host a Civilian Firearms Class on Thursday, June 6, at 6 pm at the station, followed by firing range time on Saturday, June 8, at 10 am. Class size is limited and last year the two classes filled quickly.
