Activities bus from Marshwood High and Middle Schools will resume Oct. 24

To parents of Rollinsford Marshwood Middle and High School students,

The school board voted this week to reinstate the activities bus, also known as the “late bus,” which picks up students from Marshwood Middle and High Schools at roughly 4:05 and brings them to their homes. The bus will resume on Oct. 24 and is guaranteed to run through Feb. 2, 2017.
During this time the school board will collect ridership numbers, gather information about alternative funding possibilities, and request quotes for future costs from First Student. At the January 2017 school board meeting, the board will review the information gathered and conduct another vote to determine whether to continue the bus.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please email the school board or come to our next meeting.

Sincerely, The Rollinsford School Board

Notice to Marshwood Middle/High School Parents

To parents of Marshwood Middle and High School students,

Important information about Marshwood busing

Morning pickup times: It has come to our attention that this past week Marshwood Middle and High School students have been getting to school late. Due to this, the bus schedule will be revised to pick up students approximately 10-15 minutes earlier. This will begin on Wednesday, September 14.

The online schedule will be updated on Monday once more accurate times have been determined. You can find it here: http://www.sau56.org/sau56-3/resources/parent-resources/bus-routes/. Please note the revised date to be sure you have the most up-to-date schedule (9-06-2016 is the old schedule).

This change will not affect pick up times for RGS students.

Activities Bus: The school board voted to make a change to the activities bus, also known as the “late bus,” that picks up students from Marshwood Middle and High Schools at roughly 4:05 and brings them to their homes. MSAD 35 has agreed to allow Rollinsford students to ride their late bus that drops students off at Central School in downtown South Berwick at no cost. Due to low numbers in ridership last year and the cost to Rollinsford taxpayers, the board determined the responsible decision would be to take MSAD 35 up on this offer.

Please note, there will be no supervision provided for students when they get to Central School. Students will be responsible for walking or getting a ride to where they need to go once they get off the bus. This change will begin Monday, October 3.

If you have any questions or concerns about either of these changes, please email the school board or come to our next meeting, Oct. 12, 6:30 pm in the RGS gym.

Sincerely, The Rollinsford School Board
